Getting Started
VisitorFilters is a real-time visitor security platform that monitors, analyzes, and blocks malicious traffic to your websites. This guide will walk you through the initial setup process.
How It Works
- Install the Script — Add a lightweight JavaScript snippet to your website.
- Configure Rules — Define which visitors to allow, challenge, or block.
- Monitor & Act — View real-time analytics and automated enforcement.
Quick Start
1. Create an Account
Register at https://visitorfilters.com/register and complete email verification. You'll start with a free trial that includes all features.
2. Add Your First Site
After logging in, navigate to Sites → Add Site. Enter your primary domain (e.g., example.com). You'll receive a unique Site ID.
3. Verify Domain Ownership
Add the provided DNS TXT record or meta tag to verify you control the domain. Verification typically takes a few minutes.
4. Install the Collector
Copy the integration script and add it to your website's <head> section. See the Script Integration guide for details.
5. Create Your First Rule
Go to Rules → Create Rule to set up your first protection rule. Start with a geo-block or rate limiter. See the Rules guide.
Key Concepts
- Tenant
- Your organization account. All team members and sites belong to a tenant.
- Site
- A domain you protect with VisitorFilters. Each site has its own rules and analytics.
- Rule
- A condition + action pair. When a visitor matches a condition, the action is applied (allow, block, challenge, redirect).
- Event
- A single visitor interaction recorded by the collector script.
