Alerts & Notifications

VisitorFilters monitors your sites continuously and can alert you when suspicious activity occurs, thresholds are breached, or system health changes.

Alert Types

Traffic Spike
Triggered when incoming events exceed a defined rate within a time window.
Block Rate High
Fires when the percentage of blocked visitors exceeds a threshold.
New Country
Alerts when traffic arrives from a country not previously seen for your site.
Rule Breach
Notifies when a single rule fires more than a specified number of times.
Collector Down
Warns when no events have been received for a configurable duration.

Severity Levels

Each alert is assigned a severity from 1 (informational) to 5 (critical):

  • 1-2 — Info / Low — Logged but not urgent.
  • 3 — Medium — Worth reviewing soon.
  • 4-5 — High / Critical — Requires immediate attention.

Notification Channels

Configure where alerts are delivered in Settings → Notifications:

  • Email — Sent to team admins or a custom email list.
  • Slack — Post to a channel via incoming webhook.
  • Discord — Post to a channel via webhook URL.
  • Webhook — Send a JSON payload to any endpoint.

Testing Channels

Use the Send Test button next to each channel to verify delivery before relying on it for real alerts.

Managing Alerts

View all alerts in Dashboard → Alerts. Each alert shows:

  • Title and description
  • Severity badge
  • Status: new, ack (acknowledged), or resolved
  • Timestamp

Workflow

  1. New alerts appear with status new.
  2. Click to acknowledge — status changes to ack.
  3. Once handled, mark as resolved.

Configuring Thresholds

Alert thresholds are configured per-site in Settings → Alert Rules. You can adjust sensitivity to reduce noise while catching genuine threats.
